On the new website, we will continue to inform about the news of Riga City Council and municipal institutions, update important information for the inhabitants of Riga and city guests on the decisions made, traffic restrictions, changes in regulations and other current events. We work so that every inhabitant of Riga and interested person can find the information or service they need.

The new website of Riga Municipality has been created within the framework of the project “Unified Platform of Websites of State and Local Government Institutions” implemented by the State Chancellery. The unified website platform offers modern and easy-to-use websites of state institutions and local governments based on common principles.

The aim of the project is to streamline the management of public authorities' websites by creating a single, intuitive platform that offers information that is accessible and comprehensible to the public.

Riga is the first from the Latvian municipalities to participate in the pilot project. In total, 13 public administration institutions are participating in the pilot project, including the Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the Health Inspectorate, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Justice, etc. At present, all pilot project websites with a single design are publicly available. It is planned that by the end of 2020, 60 public administrations will switch to the centralized platform.

The unified website platform is developed by the State Chancellery in close cooperation with the Information Centre of the Ministry of the Interior, the State Regional Development Agency and the Cultural Information Systems Centre.
