At an extraordinary meeting, the Riga City Council adopted a decision to donate nine vehicles belonging to SIA Rīgas satiksme, which are no longer needed for the company’s business operations.

Three Solaris Urbino 12 buses and six vehicles – five Mercedes-Benz Sprinters and one Volkswagen Caddy – are intended for use by the Ukrainian public. The carrying amount of the vehicles being transferred is zero euros. The potential proceeds from the three buses, should they be disposed of, would total 6,000 euros, whilst the total market value of the other six vehicles, excluding VAT, is 39,081 euros.

Rīgas satiksme will donate vehicles to provide general support to the Ukrainian public. As a result, vehicles currently held by the municipal company and no longer required for its operational activities will be used to provide practical support to Ukraine. The donation will also include vehicle equipment and technical fluids to transport the buses. Moreover, Rīgas satiksme will cover the costs associated with transporting the vehicles.

The Riga City Council reached its decision pursuant to the Local Government Law, the Law on Support for Ukrainian Civilians and the Law on the Prevention of Squandering of Public Funds and Property, and considering the resolutions adopted by Rīgas satiksme’s Management and Supervisory Boards.

The representative of the holder of the capital shares in Rīgas satiksme and the company itself are responsible for the implementation of the decision.
