On Wednesday, February 24th , congratulating the Republic of Estonia on its Independence Day, the Townhall of the City of Riga will be illuminated in the colours of the flag of Estonia, as well as the Estonian flag will be displayed at the building throughout the day.

The Chairman of the Riga City Council Mārtiņš Staķis on behalf of the citizens of Riga has sent congratulatory letters on the occasion of the State Restoration Day of Estonia to the Mayors of the sister cities – the Mayor of Tallinn Mihhail Kõlvart and the Mayor of Tartu Urmas Klaas. “Independence, cooperation and friendly relations with neighbouring countries  are among the most important aspects for the existence of any country. We are lucky to be close and active cooperation partners for many years. I would like to take the opportunity and express our appreciation and my sincere wish to strengthen our cooperation”, says M.Staķis.
