Benefits for achieving social rehabilitation objectives are granted in order to prevent or mitigate the negative effects of various factors, to help a household or a person in the household to improve the social situation and to participate in society.
A person shall turn to the Riga Social Service, present a personal identification document and submit a submission, by signing, adult persons shall give permission to the Riga Social Service to use the information available in the local government and State data registers regarding themselves and family members, as well as to complete the declaration of means of subsistence.

The decision regarding the granting of the social rehabilitation objectives of the benefit to the person shall be taken by the Riga Social Service on the basis of the opinion provided by the social work specialist, performing an assessment of the social situation of the person or on the basis of the fulfilment of the individual social rehabilitation plan drawn up for the person.
The allowance shall be paid by transferring it to the account indicated by the person or in accordance with the individual social rehabilitation plan drawn up by the person to the social service provider.
