In order to receive municipal greeting, Riga City Council invites families from Riga, who are celebrating a golden wedding this year - the 50th anniversary of marriage, to apply. These families registered their marriage in 1970.
Until 31st of July 2020 applications are accepted by phone 67181261 on working days from 11.00 to 15.00.
To prevent the risk of Covid-19 spreading, there will be no annual anniversary celebration this year. Instead, from August 10 to 14, Riga Municipality will greet each family separately.
The tradition of congratulating married couples who have lived in marriage for 50 years dates back to 2003.
