A public skating rink in Esplanade has been solemnly opened. Residents and guests of Riga will be able to enjoy the joys of winter until March 1. Rental of equipment is also available in the rink.
The ice skating-rink on the Esplanade at the J. Rainis monument around the rose bed will be open until 1 March. A major factor influencing the operating mode of the ice skating-rink is meteorological conditions.
Use of ice skating-rink for those with personal equipment is free of charge, but skates and auxiliary equipment will be also available for rent. The rental cost per pair of skates is EUR 2.49 per hour for adults and EUR 2.00 for children. Skates for public skating can be rented at the ice-skating rink.
The ice skating-rink will also be equipped with heated changing rooms and toilets.
Opening hours of the ice skating-rink are scheduled from 11:00 to 22:00 on weekdays, with technical breaks for ice renewal. On weekends, the ice skating-rink will be open from 9:00 to 22:00
Whereas, on New Year's Eve, the ice skating-rink is scheduled to be open until 2:00 am.

The installation and maintenance of the ice skating-rink is carried out by the association of persons "ABMxAVIAN", which was selected as a result of a tender.
