Following receipt of a proposal for the alienation of a person's immovable property or at the initiative of the local government, the Riga City Council Property Department shall perform activities for the evaluation of the alienation. If real estate is not necessary for the performance of local government functions, the Riga City Council Property Department is directing the issue of the transfer of real estate to the Riga City Council. Disposal takes place by selling real estate at auction or at a free price.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    Persons who, in accordance with Section 4, Paragraph four of the Law on the alienation of the property of a public person, have the right to propose the alienation of immovable property belonging to the local government, shall submit a proposal for alienation (in a free form or, using the proposed sample) to the Bureau of Property of the Riga City Council.
    An application may be submitted in person, sent by mail or using an e-address, sent with a secure electronic signature to an e-mail address.

    In cases where it is necessary to limit or stop the arrival of visitors in person, visitors are accepted remotely, in exceptional cases where the issue cannot be resolved remotely, allowing the presence of visitors, the service may be provided on site at the Riga City Council Property Department's Customer Service Centre on the Knights Street 10, Riga, only after a previous recording of the phone number +37s. 167026138 or +37167105221 or specialists, assessing the urgency of providing it in person on a case-by-case basis.

  2. Receipt of services
    A person may receive a service execution document in person, e-mail or by post.
