Two special summer evenings, Riga National Zoo is invited to participate in the event of a “dinner with bat”. 16 and 17 August from 19.00 p.m. to 21.30 p.m. visitors will be able to participate in knowledge activities, revealing the habits and characteristics of these small flying mammals.
Activities Trail tasks will help you get to know all 16 of the bat species in the game of memory, compare your hand with the bat wing and explore the place of these animals in the feed chain. A number of tasks will be related to insects eaten by all bats in Latvia – some of them will even be able to look in the eye! Finally, let's invite guests to commit themselves to doing some good work, as each of us appears to be able to help at bats. . In particular, we will offer the azartics a road page to perform tasks and save stamps to receive a bracelet for Riga ZOO fans.
Don't miss the only chance to walk the zoo in the summer evening, enjoying the special atmosphere that only prevails with us! Up to 21.30 there will also be indoor exposures – Tropical house, Terium, Flamings house and Latvian reptiles and amphibians house . To know who to pay special attention during the evening walk, a special route will be prepared, leading along the most active animals in the chair. m. In the tropical house you can see the Seba fruit fox in the Riga zoo. . These animals, unlike all bat species present in Latvia, are consumed with fruit s. The high fox is a great seed distributor, with some 50 fruits of different species, including bananas, wild figs and various pepper fruits, registered on their menu. . In seasons when fewer fruit, nectar, pollen and insects come to the fruit fox menu.
Non-Dispute event is called “Sat at the bat” – guests will be able to sit with the main hero of the evening at one table. . It will be possible to find out what it eats from the bat, and also the photographs taken together. s. On the other hand, those who want to enjoy the warm evening in the zoo are invited to take their snacks and a picnic blanket with them to have dinner on the lawn or picnic grounds after a walk.

During the Days of the Event From 18.00 p.m. let us offer special ticket prices for the – €8 for the adult, €5 for the child – and discounts will also be for other visitors. The purchase of tickets and the entrance to the zoo will be possible up to 20.30 p.m. but the walk will be able to continue until 22.00 p.m..
