The photo exhibition is the joint project of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Riga City Council and Nursultan Akimat (city administration), dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the direct friendly ties between the capitals of Kazakhstan and Latvia, as well as to the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The photographs at the exhibition depict well-known landmarks of the Kazakh capital, which have grown to become the face of the city: Bayterek monument, Mangilik El (Eternal State) triumphal arch, Peace and Consent Palace, Astana-Opera State Opera and Ballet Theatre, Kazakhstan EXPO-2017 pavilion and Nur Elem (Shining World) Science Museum, Green Boulevard fountain complex, city waterfront, Khan Shatyr shopping and entertainment centre.
