On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the museum “Riga Art Nouveau Centre” for the first time will participate in the International House Museum Days. Pēkšēns at 12 Alberta Street, as well as watch the short film “Visiting Konstantin Pēkšēns”.
International House Museum Days is a collaborative initiative led by the Italian National Association of Houses of Memory (Italy) with ICOM-DEMHIST (International Committee for Historic House Museums) and ICOM-ICLCM (International Committee of Literary and Composers’ Museums) and is dedicated to celebrating historic houses, houses of memory and the figures they commemorate. This year, the international campaign is taking place for the second year in a row. House museums from different countries will participate in it at the same time, offering special programs, excursions, lectures and other events. The aim of the initiative is to popularize the importance of house museums in preserving cultural heritage and to encourage their visits.
A historic house museum is a special category of museum – historical residential houses or apartments that tell the story of everyday life, creative work or historical events of outstanding personalities in an authentic environment.
The event in Latvian takes place at 12:00 and 16:00, in English at 14:00. Participation in the event with a valid museum entrance ticket.
