The conference “FuturEd: Shaping the future of education” of the Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC) Learning Cities Commission will take place in Riga on the 23rd and 24th of October. The themes of the conference will focus on school attendance, sustainable education, education technologies, artificial intelligence, STEAM, effective support for students, pathways to academic success, and the attractiveness of the teaching profession.
The conference program of the first day will include presentations, panel discussions and workshops, while on the second day there will be study visits to educational institutions in Riga. The participants of the conference will seek answers to questions on how education shapes our future and helps to find solutions to different global and societal challenges, opportunities and solutions in the Baltic Sea Region.
The conference will be opened by Linda Ozola, Deputy Chair of Riga City Council and Member of UBC Executive Board, and Matti Mäkelä, Chairman of the Learning Cities Commission (UBC).
The objective of the conference as well as the study visits is to bring together education experts and decision-makers from Baltic Sea Region countries to share best practices and knowledge on current educational themes. See the conference program for more information.
We invite representatives working in the field of education, policy makers, heads of educational institutions and teachers to register for the conference until 23rd of September at 4 p.m.. The conference will take place at the “VEF Kultūras pils”, Ropažu Street 2, Riga.
