A photo exhibition/installation by the 24th Separate Mechanised Brigade of Ukraine named after King Danilo, "Chasiv Yar. Fire-resitant".
The exhibition tells about the protection of the front city of Chasiv Yar by soldiers of the 24th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The strategically important city became the target of attacks by Russian forces, who planned to occupy the city until 9 May 2024, but they have failed to do so to this day.
The installation consists of 30 photos by Oleg Petrasjuk, communication officer and documentary photographer of the 24th Brigade. Each photo symbolizes the ongoing battles for Chasivjar. Photos are placed on fragments of fences in Donetsk region damaged by Russian shelling.
The exhibition is dedicated to the courage and dedication of the soldiers of the 24th Brigade, those who fought and continue to fight for Chasivyar in extremely difficult circumstances, keeping one of the main lines of defence in the Donetsk oblast, the border of defence between Ukraine and Europe as a whole.
The exhibition in Riga is presented by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Latvia with the support of Riga Municipality.
