From September 1, four bus routes will be replaced with trolleybus routes, furthermore, their number assignment will change. From now on, trolleybus route No. 31 will replace bus route No. 1, trolleybus No. 35 will run instead of bus route No. 5, bus route No. 14 will be replaced by trolleybus route No. 34, whereas, trolleybus route No. 20 will be resumed instead of bus route No. 59. No significant changes will be made to the routes, however, the final point of the three routes will be moved and from now on it will be at the Central Market in Gogoļa Street.
Instead of bus route No. 1, trolleybus route No. 31 - “Central Market - Berģuciems” will run. For trolleybus No. 31, from September 1, the final point will be moved to the Central Market in Gogoļa Street, while no significant changes will be made to the rest of the route. Along with the increase of the number of routes, changes will be made to the traffic schedule. On workdays, 10 additional trips will be provided and on the days-off, - 13 additional trips.
Instead of bus route No. 5, trolleybus route No. 35 “Central Market - Mežciems” will run. For trolleybus No. 35, from September 1, the final point will be moved to the Central Market in Gogoļa Street, while no significant changes will be made to the rest of the route. Along with the increase of the number of routes, changes will be made to the traffic schedule. On workdays, 23 additional trips will be provided.
Instead of bus route No. 14, trolleybus route No. 34 - “Central Market - Animal breeding station” will run. For trolleybus No. 34, from September 1, the final point will be moved to the Central Market in Gogoļa Street, while no significant changes will be made to the rest of the route.
Instead of bus route No. 59, trolleybus route No. 20 will be resumed “University of Latvia – Television Centre”.
Before the introduction of changes, passengers can use the registered one-month tickets for one route on the new trolleybus routes until the expiry of the one-month ticket validity without registering the trip.
Furthermore, as of September 1, the electronic payment system on bus route No. 11T created during the repair works of the Brasas bridge will be set for the bus, so from now on, on bus route No. 11T - “Stacijas laukums - Mežaparks”, it will be possible to register one-route one-month tickets intended for the bus. Whereas, passengers who have registered tickets for one tram route by September 1 can use them until the end of their validity without registering the trip. Also, from September 1, the number of trips on bus route No. 11T on workdays will be increased, 38 trips will be provided in addition to the existing ones.
