Ukrainian residents who have registered their place of residence in Riga will continue to be eligible for a 100% public transport fare discount on Riga’s public transport until 31 December 2026. Ukrainian residents can obtain a 100% discount for the next period from ticket machines located at bus stops or in shopping centres. “Rīgas satiksme” is therefore inviting Ukrainian civilians to go to the ticket machines and add the 100% discount to their existing e-tickets. It is not necessary to register a new e-voucher to receive the discount.
The discount can also be obtained in person at any “Rīgas satiksme” customer service centre. You must bring with you an identity document, a residence permit or a certificate confirming the assignment of a personal identity number, and your personalised e-ticket or Riga Resident Card, if one has already been issued. If a person does not have an e-ticket, one will be issued during their visit.
Fare reductions in Riga public transport – tram, trolley bus and bus – are available to those Ukrainian civilians who have registered their place of residence in Riga.
Children from Ukraine who have already applied for and received their Student Card do not need to go anywhere, and they can continue to use public transport with a 100% discount.
“Rīgas satiksme” would like to remind everyone who is eligible for a fare reduction that, they must, when boarding a bus, trolleybus or tram, tap their e-ticket on the card reader and register their journey. A green light on the registration machine confirms that registration has been successful. When tickets are checked, the e-ticket registered at the time must be shown to the ticket inspector.
