Today, April 13, a new gastronomic event begins in Riga – the “Riga Taste Festival”, expanding the beloved Restaurant Week concept by including the city’s finest pastry shops for the first time.
This April, the “Riga Taste Festival” is not conceived as a single event, but as a multi-layered citywide experience. The classic Restaurant Week format is preserved – three-course meals remain its foundation – but this year, with a stronger emphasis on quality, storytelling, and the overall dining experience. Each menu is designed as a unified culinary journey, with dishes that complement one another to create a complete, thoughtfully curated experience.
A key new element is the inclusion of pastry shops. Alongside restaurants, 17 pastry shops across 24 locations in Riga are offering their interpretation of the iconic “Vecrīga” pastry. Visitors will have the opportunity to compare different versions and discover their personal favourites.
A significant role in this year’s festival is also given to the overarching theme. Each offering is inspired by “Old Riga” – its history, local ingredients, or unique atmosphere. In this way, food becomes part of a broader narrative about Riga, its identity, and its flavours.
The “Riga Food Festival” is also an invitation to discover something new – an opportunity to visit places that might not be part of everyday routines and to experience unexpected culinary surprises.
The festival runs from April 13 to April 26 and features 63 restaurants and 17 pastry shops across 24 locations in Riga. Restaurants will offer three-course meals priced at 30, 35, and 40 EUR, while Michelin Guide restaurants will present special offers at 45 EUR. In pastry shops, the “Vecrīga” pastry will be available for up to 4 EUR, or up to 8 EUR when paired with a drink.
As usual, visitors are encouraged to plan their restaurant visits in advance and reserve tables to ensure availability of the specially curated offers. Restaurant offers are available at liveriga.com.
We invite everyone to embark on a culinary journey and rediscover Riga.
