EU capital cities are at the frontline of the multiple challenges Europe is facing and cities have a particular responsibility to find quick and sustainable solutions.
The mayors of the EU capital cities have to intensify their communication with the European Commission, therefore the “6th Annual Direct Dialogue between Mayors of the EU Capital Cities and the European Commission - Mayors of EU Capital Cities Uniting for Their Future within the Changing European Union” will provide a unique opportunity for the exchange of views on the multiple international and domestic challenges that Europe, and the Capital cities in particular, face.
This dialogue will also provide a platform for evaluating the EU Urban Agenda pilot partnerships, starting from the stocktaking phase by exploring the most pressing issues to be addressed within the partnerships, down to the ultimate aim - improving the urban dimension of EU policies and proposing better regulation and funding.
For the first time the annual dialogue between EU Capitals Mayors and the European Commission will take place in Eastern Europe. After previous conferences held in Brussels, Rome, Vienna and Amsterdam this particular dialogue will be the next crucial step to define new horizons for the unity of EU Capital Cities. Our main focus will be on the Urban Agenda of the EU in terms of mobilizing experiences, staying inclusive and creating partnerships among cities with measurable results
