Information Technology Centre

The Information Technology Centre handles all IT-related issues in the Riga City Council.

The Information Technology Centre:

• defines the common strategy, tactics and development trends for information technologies and telecommunications at the Riga Municipality;

• ensures implementation of the E-government at the Riga Municipality;

• ensures maintenance and service of the technical equipment for the corporative network of the Riga City Council;

• provides technical service and operation of the integrated voice and data transmission network for the RCC structural units and executive bodies, ensures administration of the data basis at the RCC structural units and executive bodies, as well as provides the information service;

• purchases the technical equipment for the integrated voice and data transmission network at the RCC structural units and executive bodies, as well as establishes the networks;

• ensures purchase, development, implementation and operation of the information systems in accordance with the specific functions of the Riga Municipality;

• ensures preparation of the documentation for the projects, including the E-Riga project;

• provides software for computer systems at the structural units and executive bodies of the Council;

• ensures cooperation and data exchange with the state administration and other institutions.
